Memories are jewels
Set in the foggy fabric of time
I keep them polished and gleaming
So that every thought of you
Is a thing of beauty
That will never fade
I originally posted this for a challenge on another blog back in April, but I don’t think that blog is active anymore. Instead I’ll re-post it for Open Link Night #78 on dVerse.
Lovely ~ truly a thing of beauty
Thank you. 🙂
I find keeping them polished and gleaming to be a full time job !!
Lol, it certainly can be! 🙂
I like very much
Thanks, Boomie. 🙂
What a marvelous metaphor for memories….a beautiful simplicity in this poem….I love it!!
Thank you, Jennifer. 🙂
if they only live in memory…best to keep them well polished…turning them over and over again with care…
oh God!!! this is wow!!
Thank you so much! I couldn’t ask for a better reaction to a poem than that. 😀
So lovely. Very nice!
Thank you!
Always a pleasure the clarity of thought expressed by your lines.
Have a nice day, David
Sentimental
Thank you, Sentimental. 🙂
This was a very interesting poem. It is very brief, but it feels complete. The thought of memories as jewels is an excellent metaphor to relate the two. In truth, memories are one of the most important thing an individual can have.
You’re absolutely right. Thank you.
Succinct and to the point – lovely little poem, David!
Thank you very much! 🙂
